Astoria and Youngs Bay Bridge, 2010
Happy Indepence Day to my American friends! In your honor I post this wonderful view from the highest point in Oregon over the town of Astoria and Youngs Bay Bridge. I spent three days exploring this charming area in January with THE expert: my lovely friend Sheryl, who blogs about this town daily. Needless to say, we both carried our cameras and had a hoot.

That is quite a span. The Columbia River is so impressive.
Oh yes, now I wish I could be on my way to either Oregon or WA. Very nice 'long' view.
Cool view! I've been through Astoria many times, but never stopped for long. I'm quite curious about this location. Surely not part of their famous column .......
awesome photo.
Beautiful view .... and brigde too! Wish you a great Sunday!
Great scenic shot!
That is such an interesting bridge, how it suddenly dips so low. And needless to say, that's a fantastic view :-D
Francisca, what a nice surprise and thanks for the link!
@ F., you must be up too late again. This is clearly the tallest point in Astoria, but Oregon has many tall volcanic and non-volcanic mountains.
@ Chuck, this IS from the top of the column.
Hi!
Today I share with you "The Sunday Bridge" at Louis Blog.
Nice view!
Best regards from Argentina

Wonderful view. I've never been to Astoria, but I hear that it is such a picturesque town. I've travelled along the Columbia River, which is a massive waterway. That's a nice bridge they've got there and it must make life a lot easier for the residents! Thanks for stopping by at my bridge. Enjoy the day.
«Louis» thanks you for this fine contribution to Sunday Bridges and he hopes you'll participate again!
You lead a very interesting life, trotting round the world. Where were you in Canada? I was in Windsor Ontario.
Thanks for visiting?
Fantastic view! Great.
