A Yellow Weed

Like a shy plain Jane at a ball of beauty queens, this is a little yellow weed in a land of exotic eye-popping flowers. Nonetheless, on a rainy day, I found her in our garden shining with her own special loveliness. She certainly brightened up my day.

Manila, 2010

Can anyone identify her?

Hi again!

So beautiful. Looks similar to Frangipangi (though that's usually white or pink!)

Hope you have a great week ahead & thanks for stopping by with the link!

XOXO Lola:)

Hi! You left me a message about some photos of shopowners, but I do not have an email for you. Can you go to my blog and write me at the email address in my profile?

Beautiful photo, Francisca. How do you protect your camera in the rain?

It's very pretty, especially with water droplets on it. I think it's way too pretty to be a "weed."

Sometimes the simplest forms are the most pleasing to the eye. I found a single buttercup in our garden today and was ridiculously pleased to see it.

So sad this lovely flower is considered a weed.

The blossom certainly looks like a periwinkle but the leaves do not. Periwinkle have smooth-sided leaves and this plant has serrated leaves. I hope you eventually find out what it is!

A lovely weed! There are lots of weeds with so beautiful flowers and sometimes when I go for a stroll in the countryside I bring one or two and plant them in my garden;o)
Thanks for sharing your very beautiful pic;o)

If I could grow weeds like that, I'd grown them instead of flowers...

Everything is brown here in Wisconsin, the frost took the last of the flowers a few weeks ago! I'd be very happy to see that pretty weed in my brown garden ths time of year!

Hi Francisca, this is not actually a weed as it is raised as ornamentals here, however the scientific name slipped from my toungue. I will come back when i remember. This is actually very common so a lot are volunteers so seem like a weed. We have lots of these to attract butterflies.

Hi Francisca, I'm back! I'm sorry but I am really clueless about flower names until somebody from either TodaysFlowers or MacroFlowers would supply me with names! And I think that's how I knew what it is called. MY neighbor had this plant and the flowers were white, purple and yellow. But Google said that Periwinkles are only in white and purple! Well, in my place they have it in yellow! If it is up to me I'll just call her 'Sunny'...but that's just me ;-)
