V is for Vittoriano on Piazza Venezia

Rome, 2007

Vittoriano on Piazza Venezia was nicknamed "the type-writer" by the Romans and 'the wedding cake" by American GIs of WW2. I still can't help but be impressed by the grandeur of Mussolini's white elephant.

This is my letter V for Jenny's Alphabe-Thursday

Hahaha! I see why they call it the typewriter. A wonderful photo, and I, too, would love to see what it looks like inside.

solid building, it gives us lovely imagery from outside.

It looks more like a typewriter than a wedding cake. I think I like it, now that typewriters aren't being manufactured any more.

I was also mesmerized by that building, saw it in 2006. But your composition including the trees is very beautiful.

We don't see this kind of grandeur anymore! The building is absolutely fantastic.

I would have never thought it looked like a typewriter, but now that you said that, I see nothing else. Still, it looks like an amazing old building.

I laughed when I read 'The Typewriter', but then I looked more closely and I saw why! It looks just like a typewriter; the perfect description!
