The Pons Cestius

Rome, 2007

The Pons Cestius, rebuilt in 1888 with materials from the original bridge dating back to the 1st century BC, crosses the Tiber River in Rome.

I'm linking with Weekend Reflections and Sunday Bridges.

What a beautiful bridge and such enchanting reflections.

I laughed to read Sue's poem on your sidebar. For a while, I had been thinking of disabling word verification because I too find it a real pain. Your comment gave me the final shove and I disabled about 5 minutes before I came here. Then to read the poem... LOL

Such a lovely pink sky and pretty lights reflected on the water. I imagine this a very inspirational locale to shoot photos from.

Dating back to the 1st century BC. No wonder they rebuilt it. What a treasure!
Fabulous for Weekend Reflections, Francisca.

I wonder what the soul of those original bricks think of the changes surrounding them?!

I was in Rome in 1957...saw a lot of bridges. Don't remember this one. It's beautiful. Maybe I should go back and visit Roma again?

Beautiful colours and reflection. When I first visited Rome about 11 years, I fell in love with the city and wanted to stay... I wonder if I'd feel the same way if I go there now...
