Road Bridge in Romania

Romania, 2011

When you can't get through, go around.

A road bridge somewhere in the Carpathians for Sunday Bridges.

This looks so odd, but I guess it is better (and maybe cheaper) than blasting through the rock.

Whoa. A road bridge! There's a concept. Don't remember any of these from my one and only trip to Romania. But then again, that was in the days of Ceausescu.

Wonderful idea. Why hasn't British Columbia thought of these? The sea-to-sky highway to Whistler, for instance. Of course, the people with waterfront homes on the way up the coast might be a bit ticked off. LOL

Nice, mountains and a bridge close to the water.

I have never thought of a bridge going around instead of straight from Point A to Point B. This one is so interesting, and the mountains are pretty impressive. Where there is a will there is a way!

Looks like an amazing adventure of a drive.

A clever solution, and a great photo!

I think I like this solution better.

Very cool, Francisca! I don't think I've seen a bridge like this that follows the land instead of on it! :D

That's a very spectacular bridge, and it must have been a hell of a job to build it! The surroundings are gorgeous, Francisca! Thanks for sharing.

I am trying to visualize the crew building this. Just driving on it would be quite an adventure. I'm glad they didn't have to go through the mountain.

I like the angle you were able to get on this, a great view of the causeway.

It's fun to see what the countryside is like. The name "Carpathian" sounds so exotic.
