Yellow and Red Fruits

When in season, farmers of Romania come into the cities to sell their fresh fruits. I especially relish fresh plump red (or white) cherries; so when at the start of my walk yesterday I saw this vendor selling them out of the back of her old yellow Dacia car, I took a mental note to get some on my way back home. Unfortunately, a couple of hours later I did not run into any more vendors.

 Bucharest, 2011

I got a kick out of how she was parked in the middle of the road, so I am also posting this longer view.

Plenty of yellows and reds here to link with Mellow Yellow Monday and Ruby Tuesday.

It must be fun to be in a city with such lax laws regarding street food (I mean that seriously we have so many restrictions it is a wonder we are allowed to buy food at all!)

Nice old car. Loads of yummy cherries in beijing too. Haha, I saw a few vendors on the run the other day, on tricycles. I think one spotted a police/person of authority approaching, and alerted the others. The sure packed up quickly!

I love cherries but like Luna, they're really expensive here, too. Her car is really parked randomly! But it looks very nice with the red&white cloth :-D

You can't beat farm fresh produce!

The killer E.Coli bacteria has made everyone in Europe look at fresh fruit and vegetables with different eyes, but who can resist such nice display in the back of a car? :-)

Gotta' buy em when ya sees em ;>).. i love to buy from street vendors and farmers trucks, although in FL some farmers make it a business, they hire homeless types and station them every few miles with their watermelon stands -- they come back and pick them up at the end of the day.

being in the middle of the road and bright yellow should help her sell all of her stuff!
