Add Some Color, Please

Bucharest, 2011

In our life there is a single color, as on an artist's palette, which provides the meaning of life and art. It is the color of love.
   ~ Marc Chagall

We are like chameleons, we take our hue and the color of our moral character, from those who are around us.
   ~ John Locke

The soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts.
   ~ Marcus Aurelius

Sit in reverie and watch the changing color of the waves that break upon the idle seashore of the mind.
   ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for.
   ~ Georgia O'Keeffe

There is not one blade of grass, there is no color in this world that is not intended to make us rejoice.

This art graffiti is so pretty, and your quotes are wonderful. You put together a lovely collection of them. I am a real fan of G. O’Keffe. Genie

Wonderful composition, the black lady, the colorful flowers on this ordinary wall. And the quote fit perfect.

your photo today is one of my favorites. the woman walking and her dress. does she have a phone to her ear? the sign is happy, and that they invite us to add some color, that makes it all the better. great capture! and I'm loving the Marcus Aurelius quote. thanks for sharing Francisca. have a fun day.

I wonder if that lady, all dressed in black from head to toe (and even with a black cell phone!) wishes she could add some colour to her life.

Nice to see you here, Francisca

I'd easily listen to the request of add more color :) I love colors.

What a super photo, Francisca. We can't predict moments like these, or go out in search of them — we can just be grateful when they happen.

We are having a municipal debate here about art vs graffiti and I see this as art!

I can only echo what everyone else is saying - what a perfect moment to capture. The lady in black, the plea for more color, the beautiful flowers on the wall ... capped off with the perfect quotes. This is a wonderful post!

Well captured. Such a contrast - the lady is all black, and the wall is so colourful... Happy Weekend Francisca.

That's the kind of graffiti artist you want to see around here. So cheerful and colorful. It's a good photograph with the contrast of the woman dressed in black.

Even with colours I find such sadness in this shot!... Fantastic capture, Francisca.

What a picture! It covers so many emotions. (I think the lady seems sad, the flowers are joyful...) It's an amazing contrast in one photo.

I like your well-chosen quotes too.
