T is for Tulips in Tulln

Settled in pre-Roman times, Tulln an der Donau (Tulln on the Danube) is one of the oldest towns in Austria. It's nicknamed Blumenstadt (city of flowers) and I had the terrific good fortune to travel to it some weeks ago when the tantalizing tulips - among other flowers - were in full spring bloom.

Beautiful tulips! I miss them; no "usual" spring flowers here in Florida. Doubt if there will be any left by the time we get away.

Oh, so wonderful, Francisca. I love the first photo, and the yellow tulip with the red stripes, posing alone in front of an audience of pansies.

Beautiful photographs, I love tulips. I discovered though tulips are associated with The Netherlands, commercial cultivation of them began in the Ottoman Empire and they have become the symbol of modern day Turkey

Wow! Obviously they don't have deer there that treat tulips like a salad bar! Stunning colors!
