Mariazell

One of our first stops on our two-day Styrian Alps road trip this past week (see previous posts) was the well-known old pilgrimage town of Mariazell.

I thought of James and his meme Weekend Reflections when I took this first photo; the town seen in a big red Christmas ball, with the basilica as an advent window on the building behind it. It's been a while since I joined this fun.

Austria, 2012

All the very best in 2013 to my blogging friends!
May only pleasant surprises come your way.
Thank you for the past year's fun
and wonderful sharing.

Oh my gosh, the reflection is amazing but I also love all of the other photos. Someday I'm going to spend Christmas in the old world, somewhere! :) Continue to be inspired in 2013.

How exciting to have new and fresh "things" to shoot. Jealous. My fave here in the one with the statue on the left overlooking the street. I have been horrible about reflections. I don't think I've played along for 6 months or better. Hopefully I can get back on soon. Happy 2013 to you too.

Evocative composition. I was to surprised to see the tree full of red balls. I imagine Christmas in Austria to be charming. Look forward to your 2013 posts.

How wonderful a Holiday post and just right for the Reflection meme. It looks exactly as I would expect an Austrian village to look -- perfectly charming and perfectly Christmasy.

Happy New Year!
