Just A Pair of Sunsets

Brilliant sunset skies captured in the past two weeks. The first pair were taken near my friends' homes in Hong Kong, while the second pair are near our own home in Manila.

 Hong Kong, 2012

Manila, 2012

In the distance I spot a plane and feel the peace of not wanting to be on it.

For sky-watchers at SkyWatch Friday.

Those are two wonderful sunsets, from two cities I've never seen but would love to visit.

Sunsets are something we can all share, all over the world. I love to see them caught in photos as well as 'live' - you can take time to appreciate their beauty.

You know you're in the right place at the right time when the sunsets are this beautiful and an airplane doesn't awaken the urge to travel!

I see a lot of pink sunsets here in the midwest. The yellow-gold is more rare so I like it best.

I showed your shots to my husband. He has lived in the PI and visited Hong Kong many times. He reminded me that red skies at night are the sailors delight. So he had to go with the Manila sky.

I haven't taken much sunsets from my 5th floor window since rainy season started, they are not as nice as the dry season. What is that tall structure in your Manila photo. Yes i see the plane and lots of them seen on my window too. I am having your opposite thoughts, when can i take very long flights again!

Andrea, you're right, there's been so much rain here lately, sunsets have been few and far between. That's what made this one so special for me. I can't tell you exactly what that tall building is, but the general area of those buildings is Filinvest Mall and Alabang Town Center, so it's probably one of a number of highrises now under construction.

The sunsets are great! For the moment I haven't spot any here. During the day is very hot and a rain in the afternoon leaves the sky covered. But, at least, it is cooler!

Hi Francisca! How are you? You continue to take stunning photos around the world, I see! Were you recently in Hong Kong? ;D
Thank you so much for your recent comment...I've been so bad at keeping up with blogging lately. But I've doing well, keeping busy with family, friends, and work.
You'll be the first to know when I join the blogging world once again! Hope you and your love are having a wonderful week! xx
