Strolling Along the Sea in Negros Oriental

Last week my honey and I joined a group of good friends for a few days of fun and laughter at a resort on the tip of Negros Oriental, about an hour's drive from the university town of Dumaguete.

Join me here for a little stroll along the beautiful sea. The boardwalk is concrete and has seen better days, but the camera did not mind that.

Thank you for the map at the end of this stunning post...I was just about to Google where you are. Your travels are amazing! We woke to a snow storm on this beautiful New Years Day...no church for us, but blessed by friends I've made through blogging. Happy New Year! And thanks for the tip on the side about backing up your blog. I've never done that!

You have so many really gorgeous photos here. What a pleasure to visit today. Amazing sea wall/walkway. It must be unique in the world.

So much work went into this concrete boardwalk and railing!
I love that the bridge is a continuation and does not break the lines along the sea.
Happy New Year, Francisca

So many varied and lovely photos from one picturesque location - for those that have eyes to see.... Happy New Year Francisca, hope 2012 will be a good year for you.

What a beautiful place, Francisca. I can see the effect of the saltwater on the concrete seawall, which must have taken a great deal of time and labor to build.
It seems to have affected the rock as well. It looks like lava rock.
Still, the photos of the waves are spectacular.
All the best to you and your honey.

Magnificent... and the aging walkway makes it even more charming actually, time has blended it to the stunning Natural elements around it beautifully.

It's all so beautiful.
Just as I was asking myself 'where is home to this interesting woman?' I noticed the link at the top of your blog and now I know!

The beautiful views were certainly ehanced by the shabby and crumbly textures in the stone bridge and walkway. It looks very ancient and romantic there.

Oh i was not able to see this before i commented to the last post. Your photos are real good, which might entice others to go there too. I can understand what you told me in private, being familiar with how things are! However, i have not been to this area. I've been to Twin Lakes high above the mountains maybe 2hrs from the city. I love it better when not many man-made structures cramp the area. Twin Lakes are maybe dormant volcano craters, as there are lots of big rocks on the way there, evidences of previous eruptions.

An interesting place. The bridge in the last photo seems a bit precarious... I am sure it's not. :D, Ev

Thanks, Francisca, for sharing the photos of my hometown, inspite of the wrath of Sendong. I was thinking about your group on your scheduled tour.

Happy New Year!

P.S. My group is raising funds to help support the victims.
