Along the Tanjiang River in Kaiping is a long stretch of walkway where pedestrians are separated from the river by a unique fence. Here are three shots featuring the fence taken at different times of the day.
Kaiping, 2011
In this last photo you see a boat-shaped restaurant that I first posted here.
The fence is for Friday Fences.

The sunset is for Skywatch Friday.
The reflections are for Weekend Reflections.
The fence shadow is for Sunday Shadows.
I am returning to Kaiping early next week, so after this weekend my posting and blog hopping will be interrupted until I find a way to pierce the Great Firewall of China... or leave China. I can always be reached by email.

Love, love, and love....3 gorgeous make me drool shots. I'm a light person, so I might be inclined to like that middle shot the best, but the others are spectacular as well.
I hope in your trip to China you find a way to connect. It's always fun to travel the world with you.
I'm planning to slap up a little Mural Monday this week-maybe by then you'll find a window.
Travel safely.
the promenade by the water's edge is so inviting for a short walk.
Gorgeous shots - especially that middle one!
Amazing photos! It's called a fence but it looks more like a work of art!
Great pictures of unknown territory. Thanks for showing.
So well presented for different memes.
What wonderful photos. The first one really speaks to me.
Thank you for sharing what you see with the world.

Two-three years ago, since my first visit to Asia, I have never thought that I will discover there so much beauty. And every blog I follow and every post I read sustain my opinion. Yours included. Have a good trip!
Not only the fence is beautiful but also the perspectives are fantastic!
Btw, I think I answered all your questions... LOL!

Really nice shots. I especially like the sky and colors in the second one. :)
As a good fence should, it acts as a very nice frame for the rest of the view!
Rather clever to kill so many birds with one stone (as it were!) I really like seeing the same place captured in different lights (or the dark in this case). Enjoy your visit to China - I look forward to those photos too.
YOu have given us both shadows and reflections in this one post and they are beautiful. That last shot is awesome. What a fine capture. Hope you have a nice weekend. genie
All three are great and SO different. The shadows are realy in a special pattern. This old stone fence makes a fantastic contrast to the skyscrapers, wonderful with the sun and reflections on the river. The colorful light reflections are awesome.
Hello Francisca, all three are wonderful photos. I hope you have a safe and happy trip. Great photos, Happy Skywatching!
I appreciate youe taking the time to show us three different views of this wonderful fence and walkway. What a difference the time of day makes in the scene. I'll bet this is a very popular place for people to stroll and enjoy the scenery.
Oh, this is lovely...different to what we normally see...and i love the sunset and the reflections!
they're all beautiful
the top scene is stunning
I love that second shot!
Love the last shot! I wonder if I get tipsy, the boat shape restaurant is slanting.
Enjoy your trip, Ms. World Traveler!
Beautiful, love the last shot, all these lights reflecting in the water !
All three of your photos radiate peace and contentment!

Gorgeous shots. I so appreciate the extra time and effort in a good fence, changes your entire feeling about the place.
Awesome shots! You are such a great photographer! You go to very interesting places. Take lots more photos. :)
what a magical sequence of shots....
oh my word that's a magnificent fence. if I had a small fraction of the adventure you have in your life, I'd be happy with that. I hope you're able penetrate that great wall of China. safe travels Francisca. I look forward to the view from there.
i thought the first shot was beautiful, but the progression made me go 'wow!' nice!
I wonder why it looks like when you are sitting in that restaurant. It certainly is a eye catcher from land. Your other show shot are just as awesome. Beautiful photography this week. genie
Fabulous fence shadow, Francisca. All beautiful photos, of course.
We will miss you.

These are beautiful images you took Ms. F!
Come find out the origin of my shadow last week.
The fence line is like a series of fascinating sculptures! And how magical the shapes are in the changing light! Beautiful photos!
Hi Francisca and Happy New Year!
I didn't even realise you were posting, your blog has disappeared from my dashboard for some reason, hence my absence of visits lately :-(
Oh you do find the most beautiful way of photographing!
The photo of the sun setting is gorgeous! The fence rails have lovely character. Hope you have a safe trip to China! Come back soon ;D
The fence is beautiful and so is the walkway. Love the trees too!
These are all lovely Francisca. I love the first one. It's just perfect!
Wow! Beautiful!
Hope you have a good time in China :)
Awesome shots! That fence is magnificent. I love the shadows in the first shot, the silhouettes in the second, and the night shot is stunning.
I wouldn't be able to pick a favorite out of this beautiful group. thanks for both the photos and words that go with them.
Very creative photography. Very beautiful fence. Sounds like you're having fun.
Glad you were able to get through the "firewall." Don't think I had anything to do with it, though! :-)
