I've shared with you before that I am partial to mosaics and murals ...or any urban art that serves to beautify our environment.
This mural of koi I saw in Beijing is no exception.
Beijing, 2007
Koi - a Japanese term - is an ornamental variety of the common carp. These hardy fish are bred in many different colors, patterns and scales. Koi are often seen in Asia in both indoor aquariums and outdoor ponds and are associated with courage and good luck.

Very artistic! The way you captured it, awesome!
What a beautiful work of art. Happy RT!
Nice find for Ruby. It's beautiful mural.
I played too. Mine are here and here.
I love Koi, they are colorful and just pretty to look at. Happy Tuesday!

I'm fond of murals too, Francisca!
A few people in my town have koi in their ponds but they have to watch out for great blue herons who like to steal them for a tasty treat.
I didn't realize it was a mural at first. It looked like a banner. That is stunning! I'd have it on my wall any day.
I like murals too. I especially like this one with the bike.
I checked out the link you provided, your friend does nice work!
Koi is a good luck fish. Everyone wants to grow it. The owner of this mural is smart. Now he has a permanent koi.
Thanks for your comment :-)I like that fish!
What a cool looking mural. I love seeing the koi fish in ponds
I love this mural and I love koi very much. They are so bright and beautiful. Nice shot Francisca.
Thanks for your feedback on my "Clothes Peg". :). I work as a freelance graphic designer, so yes, I do accept commission work.
I love Koi and that is a beautiful mural! I also like the yellow bike against it.
What a gorgeous wall! I love the bright colors that accent the lively koi (I wonder what they call it in Chinese?) :D
@Kaori - koi in Chinese is jinli (I think that's literally golden carp, but not sure), as goldfish - not the same fish - is jinyu.
I have Koi in my fish pond, I just enjoy having them
SO cool and artistic, like it.
Love the bicycle in front of the mural, too.
My first Chinese mural... and with a Japanese Koi! I like this kind of art much more than any contemporary preposterous 'installation'.
Wow, and I kinda like the yellow bike too.
Gorgeous! This beats my Pokemon street art any day!
