Manila, 2011
Last week I had an errand to run in Makati, our financial district, and I spotted these window washers on this glass skyscraper. It's not the first time I tell you it's a job I couldn't do, but neither could I resist the shot. It still fascinates me.
Besides, it was one of the rare times I saw anything but gray in our skies these past weeks.

So here it is, for SkyWatch Friday and Weekend Reflections.
Oh my!!! What an eternity job, Don't they have machinewash or wipers like cars have?
ReplyDeleteI could also not do ;) But great shots!
ReplyDeleteLOVE that angle!
ReplyDeleteThat needs great courage. First shot is too good.
ReplyDeletethis is truly a magnificent photo. wow. the angle is fantastic. great reflections too! this is a two thumbs up Francisca. happy SWF to you.
ReplyDeleteYour photo sure makes us appreciate the work these people do to give us a clear view.
ReplyDeletethat needs steel clad stomach for that kind of job.

Lovely shots!
ReplyDeleteI'd be sick looking down, tough job! Lovely photos Francisca.
ReplyDelete<a href="http://www.mycountryroads.com/2011/08/lion-or-pig.htmlMy Skywatch</a>, have a great weekend ahead!
Just looking at it gives me shortness of breath:)
ReplyDeleteI admire those who do this work but I am faint of heart at high places like this work.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I didn't pay any attention to the title, so my stomach lurched when I saw the photos. Heights and I do not mix, except from planes.
ReplyDeleteWonderful for SkyWatch, though, Francisca!

OH my! I have to admire window washers!
ReplyDeletedangerous......nice shots
ReplyDeletehappy SWF
fantastic perspective!!!
ReplyDeleteThose are some crazy high buildings...you couldn't pay me enough to go out on a scaffolding and wash those windows! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine doing that...heights and I do not get along. That first shot is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't want that job but it's interesting to watch in person or in pictures.
ReplyDeleteThat first shot makes me dizzy!
ReplyDeleteYou've just made me dizzy too!!! Cool!
ReplyDeleteI could not do that job either. But it made for a fantastic photo!
ReplyDeleteNice shots Francisca. I'm glad you had the urge to stop and photograph these guys at work. Along with you there a lot of people that could not do that job.
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos of reflection and sky! I have problem with height, so I better stay down on the ground :0
ReplyDeleteI guess there is no way around it if you want clean windows - human labour must be used!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive! I like the angle of the first one.
ReplyDeleteWow ! I suppose you now have a stiff neck !
ReplyDeleteThere would not be enough money in the world to make me do that job!!!! Great angle and perspective for you photo. Have a great weekend. Mickie ;)
ReplyDeleteFantastic capture, but no, there isn't enough money in the world to get me to do the job either! Gorgeous skies and terrific reflections for the day, Francisca! Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Wow, I give credit to these window washers! Not for me, I have fear of heights!
ReplyDeleteNice perspective of the building shot!
Very good photos, especially I like the first one.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
Fantastic shots. I could not do that job, I never used to be worried by heights but now I get Vertigo occasionally. Just looking up to take that photo would make me dizzy.
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine doing that job, no matter how desperate for income. These shots are magnificent and show the huge scope of the building well. happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeletePffffiou ! Vertiginous ! I'm shaking... :D
ReplyDeleteAmazing!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend Francisca!

Vertige assuré ! Le filet semble se resserrer et on a de la peine à comprendre la façade : effet réussi !
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. My heart is in my throat just looking at the pictures. I can't imagine doing that.
ReplyDeleteHooray for blue skies.
I read your previous post more carefully and it is disheartening to know that shortsighted governments are everywhere. So sad. In addition to cutting music, library, drama, and art, schools around here have cut the vocational programs that kept many (non-college-bound) kids in school and provided them the means to make a living. And then they wonder why there is so much crime ..... and on and on we go.
Skyscrapers always fascinate me. They are just so picturesque. Love how you caught the window cleaner in your photo. THAT is something I never want to do...especially while we're still shakin ;D
ReplyDeleteImpressive shots! I like the angle in the first picture.
ReplyDeleteLove your perspective here. I don't think they could pay me enough to do this job!
