A Blossom Better Up Close

Not all flowers are beautiful, I think. Some are downright homely.

So I thought of the blossoms on this tree as I approached it on a dull gray day recently.

Wuchuan, 2012

But as I got closer, I began to change my mind.

And when I looked more carefully, I came to appreciate its unique beauty.

There's a life lesson in there, isn't there?

Of course I haven't the foggiest notion what the tree or its blossoms are called. Do you?

Wow! You are totally right. From a distance it doesn't look like much, but those closeups are amazing. Fantastic photos! So delicate...

Rather like some people who look unprepossessing, when you get closer or know them better they look quite different.

Wow - they look kind of like lace or eyelet fabric. I like them...good thing you got closer!

Of course, I have no idea what they are either :) But, I still like them and I appreciate you sharing!

Yes, there is definitely a lesson there! Great photos, Francisca! Sorry I can't help with the ID, not a tree I am familiar with.

Thank you for participating in Floral Friday Fotos!

Wow, what a fantastic find! It truly is amazing and very unique, i don't remember seeing it yet even in blogs. Is the lesson included in the common saying "judging the book by the cover"? ...and there's a lot of flowers per tree!

Watch close and you see lots of "unknown" things - just like your good project raising money to help children to a better life :)

MY husband and I donate money to SOS, also a good project :-D

Long time ago I last have been visiting you, but I can see, you still are in a hurry around the world, he-he.

So true. The close-up shows such a beautiful and delicate flower that would otherwise be missed from a distance. Great shot.

A closer look really did yield beauty -- certainly a moral here.

I really appreciate your posting and commenting when I know it isn't easy for you right now.

I get behind reading and I have no such good excuses.
