The deep mottled hues and varied shapes of the tropical croton plant appeal to me. Its colorful glossy leaves brighten up any garden.

"Croton" - the planet where the interstellar guardian lives amongst plants with beautiful leaves. It is a plant planet, and he's the plant planet-carrium.
I think I'd better stop commenting on blogs tonight and go to bed before my head falls off, okay? (And no, I don't drink. I'm just very, very tired.)

Hi Francisca, yes, crotons are always colorful and there are many varieties around. You should see those with spindly leaves, it is my favorite croton.
The first is populare in Denmark, but we have them indoors ;-)
Crotons are really beautiful...so tropical feeling. When we visited Chicago last summer we saw that they had planted huge patches of crotons along the city streets...what a beautiful splash of color!
I always marvel at plants like these growing wild -- in the Pacific Northwest we see them as pampered house plants only.
Beautiful colors.
Crotons were more common here in Sweden when I was a little girl. My mother had them as indoors flowers.
Lovely mosaic.
ahhhh...beautiful tropical plants that can thrive outdoors year round! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!
My mom has this plants. We call it "San Francisco" I didn't know it is called Croton to some. Great shot!

Beautiful shots! I miss that plant!
Mellow Yellow at my page.
There is such a lot of variety in crotons. I like them for this reason - different leaf shapes and a whole world of colors.
What a contrast with our dull or now gone folisge!
lovely! we used to have those kinds of plants in our garden!
Superb Foliage Plant. Wonderful colour.
I love these...we have them all over Florida, especially south Florida...in Ocala, it's a little cold but they'll still grow.
