Yellow Blossoms in Wuchuan

After a hard week's work my eyes craved to look at something pretty. So I collected a series of yellow blossoms I captured on my walks to and back from the office I occupy here in Wuchuan this spring.

As usual, I haven't a clue what these plants and trees are called. I'll stick my neck out and guess that the first are watermelon blossoms. Am I right?

  2. Yellow photographs so well, doesn't it? I particularly like the close-up of the single blossom in the middle of the medley.

  3. I'm afraid I can't help you with identifying the plant, but they are beautiful. I really like the first shot with the juxtaposition of the yellow painted metal.

  4. Could be some kind of squash at the top there. The bottom looks like bougainvillea.

  7. Hello Francisca, how are you? How do you compare rainy seasons in different countries, we have an impending typhoon now! I know which group of plants the first 3 are included, yes that 1st is one of the cucurbits, watermelon or rockmelon or honeydew. 2nd is in Malvaceae family maybe an abutilon, and 3rd can be in our Makopa family, 3rd-not familiar in the tropics.

  12. I love flowers too and I love to photograph them, even if I'm not so skilled in macros. Next year, after my retirement, I plan to start a new blog, of photography, and there will be a lot of flowers there!

  14. I really like that yellow hibiscus (I think that's what it might be). I had one once but it wasn't hardy enough to survive here
