Exploring the city of Vienna on foot last April, I spotted this squeaky clean car offering a funky view of the old buildings on this street. I just like the lines of the building design coupled with the bare trees.
Vienna, 2011
I prefer this scene in monochrome. My honey disagrees; he says the original color photo is almost black and white already and the blue sky adds to the story. Mouse over my image and you can see the color version. What do you think? Don't worry, you are not taking sides in any domestic dispute... this is a friendly discussion. Really... LOL!
Today I link with memes Weekend Reflections, Weekend in Black and White, and Walk in the Street.
Neat reflection, Francisca ! The car is so clean, it is dream for catching reflections... I like the shape of it, though.
ReplyDeleteLove the different directions the lines go on the hood and on the window!
ReplyDeleteBecause my son is home from China, it reminds me of the same. Others (in the USA) call our discussions "fights" - it must be a cultural thing, similar to what constitutes to be "rude" and what is not:) Of course I can only have this discussion with you!
They're both beautiful and I love the differences in the same capture! Great one for the day, Francisca! Hope you have wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
Although it looks good both ways, I prefer the black and white.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reflection you caught. Love it...
It's one of the best reflections I've ever seen Francisca!
ReplyDeleteHugs
Joo
I like them both. Everything looks so different in colour - a picture. In black and white it's more of a design, and i like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but I would have to say the B&W version (my fave) is more abstract and mysterious looking.
ReplyDeleteNow that is one cool reflection!
ReplyDeleteI like them both, though after switching back and forth several times, I notice my eye goes directly to the blue reflected sky in the colour version, but in the B&W my eye goes to the reflected buildings in the glass and hood of the car.
I love the photo I love Vienna and dare I say it - I love the touch of colour!! hope you're still smiling!
ReplyDeleteWow this is a neat image. It's not a car at all. Not any more. Your choice of B&W is the right one. Color is simply a distraction that this image doesn't need. I really like it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and kind words. My aunt was like a second mother to us. She was the most gentle loving person I've ever met.
Awesome reflection. Love more the B&W version :)
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! The first thing I thought of was M.C. Escher! I think I prefer the monochrome the best. Thanks for visiting me. I always enjoy your comments.
ReplyDeleteI like both versions and I wish I knew how you are able to have both versions in the same photo. Very cool! Anyway which do I like better? Black and white! :)
ReplyDeleteAt road junctions, we have people asking if they can clean your windscreen. Some people don't want to, they are afraid of the stick. I always give them some money for their effort staying out in the cold winter esp in the evening.
ReplyDeleteYou heard of the Chinese saying, when husbands and wives fight, it is best not to get involved heheheh
ReplyDeleteYou know what I tell my husband, it is my blog. Now he never comments. He still like to comments sometimes.
Cool, with just a mouse over, I saw the original color!
ReplyDeleteMmm, it's a close call but I'll go for the B&W. The patterns are the focal point and the mono brings them out. I love how you see the reflection but not the building itself in your composition. The 'mouse-over' thing is clever too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reflection and excellent choice for black and white.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
I like the mouse-over, very cool. Must be a guy thing, I think I like the color, but it's not an easy call. In either case, it's cool!
ReplyDeleteI love this just the way you've displayed it Francisca! Thank you for your kind words at my blog. I'm feeling pretty well today:-)
ReplyDeleteI kind of like the color version, too. Either way, it is a wonderful capture - such clear reflections are hard to come by.
ReplyDeleteI want to know how you did the mouse over trick!
I think I take your side, Francisca. The blue is magnificent, like your love mentioned...but I like the shapes and dimentions that stand out a little more in the B&W photo :-D
ReplyDeleteAlso I think the "mouse over" effect is awesome! That's some trick you've got up your sleave! :D
I like it in black and white although color is good too. What a fantastic shot!
ReplyDeleteWow I love it!! What a reflexion!
ReplyDeleteWow! Amazing reflections! That car is a piece of art. I really prefer it in B&W.
ReplyDeleteI like this a lot. The car makes a whole new image oout of what it is reflecting.
ReplyDeleteAs for the debate--I like the color, but it is a hard choice!
An original take on the reflections, well spotted
ReplyDeleteSuperbe reflet dans la voiture et j'aime bien quand je passe la souris sur la photo elle passe en mode couleur ;)
ReplyDeleteMerci d'avoir participer au challenge "Walk In The Street Photography"
What I love is how you can mouse over it and change it back to the original. That's very cool. The lines and angles are wonderful, and I sort of like the touch of blue. (And wow that was a clean car!)
ReplyDeleteNicely captured shot!
ReplyDeleteBefore seeing the colored I was sure liking the b/w best, but... I joint your husbands club *LOL*
ReplyDeleteThanks, my vacation was quite OK, lots of homework was fixed ;-)
I'm agreeing with you! I prefer the black and white version. spectacular reflections. I hope you're having a fun weekend Francisca.
ReplyDeleteAwesome reflection with house and tree. My favorite is the B&W.
ReplyDeleteWow, this almost gives me vertigo. You feel like you can fall into the reflection.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, awesome reflection! It's just marvelous in black and white.
ReplyDeleteTough choice, B/W wins today.
ReplyDeleteThis is so striking, it's a real gem of composition and style. I honestly can't decide, although I'm tending to prefer color this year. Of course the thing that I like best is the "onmouseover" trick. I haven't seen it on a blog before. Brava!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best reflection shots I've seen. I just love it! Great job.
