V is for Village

This past weekend I thoroughly enjoyed a slow two-day road trip up through mountains and down into valleys in a special historical area of southern Transylvania, a little over three hours from Bucharest, called Mărginimea Sibiului. Eighteen towns and villages, each with its own cultural, architectural and historical heritage, many dating back to the 14th century, make up this ethnographic region.

    These are fantastic, Francisca! What lovely little villages and roads!! Wonderful, colorful houses! They do look like scenes from history book. I would love to be able to visit there! Your photos are the next best thing! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

    Village is such a lovely word! And your photos are gorgeous! I love how differently colored the houses are and their use of wood and bricks.
