Was it illicit or illegal to photograph this sign?

Observation: there seems to be a growing paranoia about the public use of cameras right at a time when every Tom, Dick and Annabelle roams the streets with a camera in their cellphone. What is the use of promulgating rules and regulations that cannot be systematically and fairly enforced? Just asking.

ReplyDelete@JDaniel4's Mom... I doubt I've disclosed any state secrets in these images, and so I doubt they'd have an interest to come look for me. I've been a pretty nice promoter of their country... ;-)

ReplyDeleteInteresting. I can just imagine you running home to build a dam in imitation of theirs. Your lawyer can tell them you're from BC, so you didn't need any instruction in dam-building, you've seen 'em all.

ReplyDeletei get pissed when i had to surrender my p & s to a security guard before entering a cinema. you're right, everybody's cel phone has a camera, so why not confiscate the cel phones, too?

ReplyDeleteMakati is the worst of the lot here. I've been stopped by their security guards while trying to get pictures of the exterior of buildings. I can understand interiors, since that can be a security risk, but outside? Still got pictures though — I just crossed the street. :D
What exactly do they not want you to take a picture of? The red railing?

ReplyDeleteToo funny! I think it's funny how you took a picture of a "no photo" sign :) I know I would! It's just screaming for you to take a photo of it. I do have to admit, though, it's one of the better looking "no photo" signs I've seen!

That sign is in such a random place...does that mean no photos where the sign is standing or the whole area? Your first photo is fabulous, Francisca! Had me chuckling even before reading your post :D

ReplyDeleteVery interesting. It's not like you are at some top secret nuclear plant!! In this day of cell phones with ever increasing photographic capability, it would be especially hard to enforce this type of edict....and by whose authority, anyway.

Isn't that the craziest thing. Rules that are made to be broken don't encourage respect for the law.
