Back in January of this year, we saw this bridge under construction near where we were staying in Kaiping. It was in fact a reconstruction of an old one. It is called the Tanjiang Bridge.

By October when we went back it was completed and in operation. I learned that this 328 meter long bridge with six lanes was opened to traffic on June 22. The reconstruction had started in July 2009.
The towers on the bridge symbolize the watch towers for which this county is famous.
On the bridge I found a "selfie" reflection for Weekend Reflections. The bridge joins Sunday Bridges.
What a wonderful bonus the reflection is, Francisca. I love it!

ReplyDeleteWhat a dramatic bridge design--and complementary to its location with the towers. In my city of Louisville, Kentucky we've had a recent bridge crisis where a major one had to be closed to traffic for cracks in foundation. I hope the new one will be as "right" as this one.

ReplyDeleteThese are really lovely, and an interesting bridge. So often the old and modern don't complement each other the way they were intended, but here they get my vote. I especially like the contrast in the first two. The color in the lighter area is super nice against the trees.

My Ah Kung/grand Dad would sit at our balcony and watch. Of course we kids would do the same. Mum "people no need to work???"

What an awesome bridge. Love the way they added the red. The reflection in the chrome ball is fabulous. It even picked up all of the color. Wonderful captures. F...I went back in and cropped Eloise reflection photo. I think I did it correctly. The aspect ratio appears to be the same and it certainly looks better. Thanks so much for the suggestion.

This article is a bit outdated. And a bit wrong. At the time it was written I believe there were 55 horses in Ocala and just recently another group was added, so the total is about 80.
If you Google "Ocala Florida Horse Fever," you can get additional info.
Re my visit to the surgeon's office: That was a follow-up. Last July 12 I slipped on a wet board on a golf course in Tennessee and tore the tendons off my left knee. Surgery was August 25. I started playing golf again about 2-3 weeks ago. Dr. Duke is very happy with his work and my knee, as am I. :-) Not much fun to go through all this crap at my age, tho!
