Another Guizhou Bridge

This is the second bridge I post from the beautiful province of Guizhou in China. It may not be as unique or interesting as my earlier Wind & Water bridge; still the setting with the terraced rice fields is so serene, don't you agree?

    yes, and the area except the bridge looks like a place we hiked in Banawe last year, which has a hanging bridge lovelier than that. And the sides of the mountains are all rice terraces. Happy Sunday Francisca.

    The scene resembles the Peak District in the UK -- apart from the terraced fields!

    The view is spectacular! And I think it's interesting how the bridge continues on after crossing the river...is there another river on the otherside? :D

    This is a lovely scene and I like the photo for the asymmetrical look of the bridge (even though it's not, really!)

    Beautiful field and it is serene -- they surely makes good use of the ground with that terraced hillside.

    Very serene, Francisca, and the water looks so cool and refreshing. I really like seeing the terraced fields. When I was a child, I read about terraced gardens and had a hard time imagining how it could be done. I remember spending a lot of time trying to figure it out, before going to the library to look it up.

    Great perspective! The water just draws the eye to the bridge! I, too, like the tiers on the left and the little stone structures.

    I was on the opposite bank of the river.

    1990-1996, I went to Singapore as a faculty wife. My husband taught at the Nanyang Technological University.

    1975-77, I studied at the university of Windsor in Canada.

    I grew up in Sarawak, Borneo until I was 20.

    The rest of the time, I lived in NZ.

    The other places, I went for holidays.

    What a gorgeous setting. This is one beautiful spot. The stone structures look like the hoodoos we build in our creek and beside the river. Such a sweet bridge...love the arches. Genie
