[enlarge to see sheep]
Romania, 2011
I'm hooked on sky-watching, especially when driving through pretty countryside and past charming old towns. These are drive-by shots, and no, I am not the driver.
Find other gorgeous skies at SkyWatch Friday.
Those are so nice! I love the first one with just a hint of a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteI love the rainbow shot. Happy sky watching!

ReplyDeleteOh amazing skies and such wonderful light!
ReplyDeleteHappy Midsummer Francisca!
Pure magic! Love that delicate rainbow.
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment over at Yoga Gal! :)
Lovely shots. The landscapes are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis is a stunning series of shots with some beautiful skies overhead. I am curious to know what is growing in the field of the second picture. It looks like little pegs in the ground. Lovely captures. Genie
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Green and blue. Like them all.
ReplyDeletesuch gorgeous landscapes and skies!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies, Francisca. Is that a vineyard in the second photo? I enlarged it, but it's still hard to be sure. I enlarged the first photo and found the sheep, however!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place Transylvania turned out to be.

@Genie and Kay... my guess is probably as good as yours, but I'd say those are grape vines. The wines here are rather delicious!
ReplyDeletethe landscape enhances the skyscape.
ReplyDeleteMy sky is here
Absolutely Love that rainbow shot over the terraced green hill. Wonder if the sheep enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely - very peaceful!
ReplyDeleteHehe! I'm hooked on sky watching too. :) I LOVE the rainbow!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shots!! Love it and happy weekend!

The first photo had me thinking Ireland! Then the vineyard shots with the spires and domes told me "nope." Have been enjoying your tour of Romania. Brings back memories.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful! Now I remember why I liked driving through Eastern Europe:)
ReplyDeleteHappy skywatching Francisca. The first one is somewhat like in Batanes in what they call 'Marlboro Country'.
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures ! ! !
ReplyDeleteA love de rainbow.

P-TER
these photos are JAW-DROPPING! that's precisely what my jaw did when I saw the first photo. and yes, I did enlarge to see the sheep dotting the hillside. now this is some beautiful expanse of sky. I was telling a friend the other day that I need a driver - someone to drive for me while I snap away. I love drive-by shooting, and for a time I was doing it without a driver when I had my point and shoot camera. it wasn't easy and was risky, I know. I didn't use a polarizing filter on my shots, but that's one of things on my wish list. they surely are not inexpensive. happy SWF Francisca, and have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteWonderful rainbow! LG Tina
ReplyDeleteThat first shot is absolutely magical!
ReplyDeleteI love the layers in the last shot--clouds, sky, mountains, town and fields. Beautiful composition. All the sky photos are lovely! Great captures from a moving car!
ReplyDeleteYour country and light are so beautiful. I love the first shot with the hillside sculpted by cattle tracks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful! I love the soft green with the rainbow, and of course the beautiful town.
ReplyDeleteWonderful skies! There was a really distinct rainbow here last week. Unfortunately, I was coming home from work and I was the driver!
ReplyDeleteOh my these are just outstanding shots. Love that first one, and the color of green velvet, and the hint of a rainbow... Awesome.
ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic photographs. I love how your skies loom so large over the countryside.
ReplyDeleteYou went to harvest grapes? The first photo with the rainbow is so peaceful, You allowed to camp there, freedom camping which is banned in NZ.
ReplyDeleteLove the rainbow!!! And the sheep!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots!
ReplyDeleteI notice that your profile says you are still living in the P.I. are you on a long vacation or perhaps spending the season in Romania?
The top photo is a winner! Love it.
ReplyDeleteLove the skies and the rainbow (and the fact that you enjoy drive-by shooting). What are the stakes for in the second picture? Or do you know?... I am often frustrated at not being able to identify crops that we pass.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful...I keep saying the same thing...and I'm a sucker for rainbows, they always bring a smail to my face. I've enjoyed traveling with you!
