These are three of the ten public clocks commissioned by the city council of Bucharest at a cost of nearly Euro 100K each as part of their plan to revitalize the city center.
Bucharest, 2011
C is the letter of the week at Jennie's Alphabe-Thursday.
They're beautiful, Francisca. The price seems a little high, but I know nothing about public clocks. A very lovely choice for the letter C.

how does knowing what time it is revitalize anyones day? just wondering looks like theyre alreeady outside whch would already have revitalizing affects on me
ReplyDeleteI like the look of these clocks as they seem to fit in with the architecture of the city.
ReplyDeleteLovely timepieces! I especially like your first photo with the branches in the background.
ReplyDeleteBlessings & Aloha!
Very nice photos and I guess 100 K Euros is a lot! I'm wondering how much it would be in American dollars. Those sure are fancy, but beautiful clocks.
ReplyDeleteI especially love the first one, but 100,000 euros each? Eek.
ReplyDeleteHello, Francisca! Hope you are well.
Does their cost mean they are well made and will last for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI am really a freak when it comes to clocks. I simply must have the EXACT time for every clock in my house! Thanks for a most interesting post!
ReplyDeleteMarvellous clock shots. I have a sundial featured today.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
Even more than the clocks, I like the windows and reflections in the last photo.
ReplyDeleteExpensive but very pretty and I like your angles, especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteVery classy clocks! I like how you captured them in your photos, Francisca! I never have a watch so having these clocks to show the time is wonderful :D
ReplyDeleteWow. Those are gorgeous. They add such drama to the streets.
ReplyDeleteAnd the photographs you shared are really splendid.
Thanks for a dramatic and interesting link to Alphabe-Thursday.
I always enjoy visiting you!
A+
It's an interesting way of revitalising a city and they all have Roman numerals. I suppose that's a classier look, really:-)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely! Wonder if people appreciate them as much as we do via your gorgeous shots?
ReplyDeletefun take on C..
ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day Weekend.
They are beautiful clocks but I do think Bucharest have many other areas that could do with €300k. Not sure that was a wise decision on their part
ReplyDeleteWonderful clock shots. I like them all.
ReplyDeleteI like the clocks...but 100K Euros per tick-tock sounds a bit excessive...perhaps they are quality clocks and quality does not come cheap?
ReplyDeleteNow, it's time for me to go...
Wonderful post! The top shot is my favourite, such drama!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful city!
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful.
