Reflections on Trout Lake

Here are two photos I took on the same spot on Trout Lake on the Sunshine Coast of Beautiful British Columbia ... Which one appeals to you more?

    They're both attractive. The first I like best in the short term because it's more exciting, the second would be easier to live with longer-term because it's calm.

    I like them both but I think the second just wins. The first is more of an abstract - I want to put it vertical to make a tree!

    Lovely - both of them. I like the bottom one better in general with the shape of the forest in the frame plus the foreground.

    But the first one is like a mirrow image...

    This one is tough..... I think I prefer the second one.
    The first one makes me think of an elaborate Rorschach.

    My instinct is to go with the first one, but I too want to turn it sideways and make a Rorschach out of it. The second one is just beautiful and serene, so I vote for that one. About your comment on my blog, I loved the book Blue Highways too, both my husbnd and I read it a long time ago. One of my favorite Blue Highway experiences came in Kentucky. We were driving down the road and I asked my husband what was blocking our way in the distance. Turned out to be a dog nursing her puppies. Eventually they got up and walked away. The Blue Highways bring you closer to the people and the reality of the place you are driving through. Of course, from the photos you are sharing, I'm not telling you anything new! I love your blog.

    As the first photo reminds me of the 10,000 piece puzzle we finished when I was little, I'd have to say I like that one! Beautiful reflection :D
