Even ugly is in the eyes of the beholder, but these two ducks sitting on an air pump on a fish pond in Kaiping sure won't win any awards for beauty from me!
Kaiping, 2012
Joining reflections seekers at Weekend Reflections and animal lovers at Camera Critters.
But the photo looks nice, Francisca!
ReplyDeleteI agree... the ducks are ugly but the photo is a beaut.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem...so true! Now, you must change your attitude about the birds...they're part of the animal kingdom and thus are wonderful!!
ReplyDeleteDucks won't but the picture will: the reflection is perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh, I agree with the others -- even though I always love ducks! They may not be beautiful, but they certainly do make for terrific reflections -- particularly perched on those balls! How fun! Have a wonderful weekend, Cisca!! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
They do look cute!
ReplyDeleteThe blue air pumps make the picture interesting.
Great reflections, and I like the ducks!
ReplyDeleteGuess something had to exist for the phrase...ugly duckling:)
ReplyDeleteYou all are too hard on these poor duck...you gotta give them a break :-) They might have been having a bad hair day. The red above the beak on the one on the right really does stand out just like they are standing out there for us to lass judgement. As you know, I keep the suspension room so I get the bad, the ugly, and the worst of the worst. I give them safe haven and do not pass judgement. Therefore I am inviting these two little fellows to come and join me. hahahahaha Genie
ReplyDeletePS...They really are unattractive :-)
But they do make a beautiful shot....
ReplyDeleteThe birds may not be beautiful, but your photo of them is! Hope you are doing well...
ReplyDeleteYes, u-g-l-y, but the bright blue makes a nice colorful reflection and I like the diagonal line hinted in the water. Happy day Francisca. Hope things are going well.
ReplyDeleteHave never seen attractive airpumps though! Seems you are back in China for some time.
ReplyDeleteDid I tell you my son now lives in Holland -everything is set for him to study there he has discovered the advantages of being Dutch and studying there -a fraction of the cost in the US)
Don't worry about leaving a comment, and get back to me when you're somewhere else:):)
Oh, the poor sweeties. Definitely ugly ducklings, but a great photo, Francisca.
ReplyDeleteK
Ummm... I agree! They are a tad ugly! But on those blue features as a contrast, they become interesting characters!
ReplyDeleteMaybe an award for balance. And for giving you a reflection.
ReplyDeletebeauty is in the eye of the beholder ... they make the most perfect reflections and that is indeed a beautiful thing.
ReplyDelete"Adelaide and Beyond"
:)Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteI like the ducks and the reflections are wonderful, so perfect like a mirror!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful composition dear Francisca,
Have a nice weekend my friend,
hugs
Léia
I agree - but the photo is a nice shot anyway. Poor ducks - they just can't help it.
ReplyDeleteNot handsome these ducks, but the photo is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteNot so ugly, lol!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Argentina
Elisa
Perfect reflections :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an intriguing shot! I think they look sweet.
ReplyDeleteLoL! poor ugly ducklings! =)
ReplyDeleteI bet they are beautiful to each other...;-) Looks to me like they perch in the same places regularly, I wonder if they are fish eating ducks...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit. The rain, as is common with me, is not what I was thinking of when I snapped that shot. I "found" it when editing. Serendipity is a wonderful photographic aid!
let's call them odd ;)
ReplyDeletethe pump looks like sculpture
and the reflections are wonderful
I like the way they look! They're quite unusual. :)
ReplyDeleteThe reflection is perfect. Hardly a wave in that pond.
IHow’s about order TWO pair of hideous #11 shoes for the TWO ugly ducks. It might give their self images a bit of a life! What do you think???? By the way, most running shoes are now selling up to 150.00. Crazy if you ask me. I have been wearing the same sneakers for years and years, and they are just fine. genie
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
ReplyDeleteThe Cardinal, is my critter this week!
I can find beauty in all God's creatures. Lovely scene and photo. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love how you captured the air pumps, too, They look like glass!
ReplyDeleteOh I dunno, I think they fall into the 'so ugly they're cute' category!
ReplyDeleteLovely ugly ducks!
ReplyDeleteI've seen these kind of ducks in collections over here. They are pretty ugly, more like turkeys than ducks! Maybe they have nice natures.
ReplyDeletebeautiful captions of the ducks :-) Dropping by from Camera Critters
ReplyDeleteI don't find them ugly! :-) Great reflection shot.
ReplyDeleteI think they are beautiful in their own unique way, Francisca!
