It looks like some people think that just because LED lighting is cheaper and more energy efficient it should be used... everywhere!

This nameless bridge in Kaiping crosses an artery of the Tanjiang River.

I'm linking with Weekend Reflections and Sunday Bridges.
Nice photo. Everything is coloured coded. I'd have no problem finding my home(:-0)
ReplyDeleteThough it's pretty, I wonder when we'll stop with our light pollution. In France, some "green" cities are already imagining totally dark cities in the dead of night, between 2 and 5 am which I think is going way too far though...
ReplyDeletei must agree, it still uses energy:)
ReplyDeletebut the light reflection's very pretty...
The city sure is lit up, isn't it? Lovely reflections, though.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't have that same glow that the older light have have. And I still haven't warmed to the blue lights.
ReplyDeleteI wish there was a way to just have the reflections, without using all that light
ReplyDeletemy town gets pretty dark at night and I love it, especially when the old lamp posts are on, shedding just a bit of warm light
So positive and correct idea about this light. And the effect is amazing, brilliant lights there.Your picture is awesome, congratulations.
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank you so much for your always kind words and please forgive my absence.I'm studying here a lot to achieve my goals about French. As I'm not a teenager, I guess I've lost several neuroneus along the years, so that...I must study double to compensate it! LOL
Hugs and happy weekend,
Léia
what a beautiful view! ♥
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful, colorful reflections and a terrific capture for the day, Cisca! Hope you have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteSylvia
It is a very beautiful reflection, but the whole idea of using more lights just because they're less expensive than incandescent bulbs is counter-productive.
ReplyDeleteI love to look at the night sky in places where there is no light pollution. It's just amazing.

It looks like there are lights everywhere.
ReplyDeleteWow these is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWeekend Reflection
I agree...I wish there was a way to have the reflections without all of the lighting. This is still an amazing and beautiful capture. genie
ReplyDeletewow, that's a striking image Francisca. happy weekend to you.
ReplyDeleteLet them use LED because it looks great in this photo! :)
ReplyDeleteIt makes such a great photo, with the lights, there will be no photo.
ReplyDeleteIt almost looks computer generated! Nice pic...
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely bright! There was a controversy going on in Eugene OR when we were "home" there this summer about some red lighting that the city put on a new bridge. I never got around to getting a picture of it.
ReplyDeleteYa, I don't like them either. And now most Christmas lighting is LED...YUK!
ReplyDeleteThe line of lights in the water looks like a wave moving away from the bridge. It took me several seconds to get oriented. Neat.
ReplyDeleteAgree over kill, but how lucky for you to happen along and capture it. I LOVE this photo. The sense of panoramic makes it even more expressive. Nicely composed.
ReplyDeleteThat is a spectacular shot! Crisp and what a great reflection! I have trouble with night time shots. I'm never really sure what to put my camera settings on!
ReplyDeleteWow!!! Love this shot!!! The lights are wonderful!!!
ReplyDeleteI put word verification back on my site because I was getting quite a few spammer comments...it is a pain though!
I love your poem about it!!!
Yikes, I am sure the intent was good, but it yells: blinding hot scorn... to me. ~Mary
ReplyDeleteI agree about "light pollution", but that is a beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteThat is a fantastic night shot Francisca!
ReplyDeleteThis may be a drain on energy resources but o what a fairytale view of this bridge by night!
ReplyDeleteIt makes a great reflection.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
The lights do look pretty and make a lovely reflection.
ReplyDeleteBut I also long for some darkness, sometimes.
Digital cameras bring night photography to a new level. The colors are always amazing! Unfortunately, in this shot, the lights of the bridge tend to take away from the symmetry and beauty of the picture.
ReplyDeleteI mean it's still beautiful, but ... the nameless bridge gets in the way! :-)
This is PERFECT! Amazing shot, Francisca.
ReplyDeleteLED overkill or not, it is a beautiful image and a welcome contribution to Sunday Bridges.
