Why did the gazebo cross the road?
To get to the other side?
Philippines, 2010
Hand-crafted bamboo gazebos are popular in the Philippines. Besides offering a cozy space to relax, dine or socialize, they provide shelter from the searing sun or pouring rain. They are found in local cuisine restaurants, resorts and back yards.
The letter of the week is G at ABC Wednesday.
and they are portable!

That's a great shot of the gazebo.
ReplyDeleteA lot better than the plastic tent things we get here - and it looks like it travels better too.
ReplyDeleteTo get to the other side! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove it, and not as heavy as cedar.

The "walking gazebo" is a humorous pic, Francesca!
ReplyDeleteGazebos are attractive and practical...even here in Canada.
ReplyDeleteI like gazebos, though they tend to be stationary here.

Francisca, this is an utterly charming photo. It conveys both a sense of place and of community.
ReplyDeleteThat looks more like a goes-zebo!
ReplyDeleteSuperb! Portable, handy and pretty:)
ReplyDeleteWowza! I've never seen a gazebo being carried like that before. But that must mean there are a lot of gazebos there! I love them. So romantic :D
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the advertisement for these - 'Light, bright and easily transported. Why not have a gazebo-moving party?'
ReplyDeleteYou got me! I was thinking it was some sort of exotic animal, at first. LOL Have a great week!

That's pretty funny watching the gazebo getting pushed along the road. I'm familiar with the word from the Pacific Northwest, where a gazebo is a wooden garden structure, with seating usually. In Florida, we would call your gazebo a 'tiki hut' and they are used in all the ways you describe. (Some of our favorite restaurants are housed in them.)
ReplyDeleteNice to have one in a tropical garden :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe there is a hot tub in there also!
ReplyDeleteUnique and special looking gazebo! I wouldn't mind having one in the backyard.
