You may be inclined to classify this image as a photo cliché... and I wouldn't argue strenuously... To make matters worse, by today's standard, it's a relatively old low resolution image.
Yet still, I thought those of us in search of scenes for Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday might enjoy seeing the shadows of folks admiring the desert outside the city of Dubai.
Dubai, 2005
UBER-COOL!
ReplyDeleteIt might be a cliché but I don't care, I like these shots in the amazing environment the sand dunes are.
ReplyDeleteit's a fun shadow shot Francisca. this environment is so exotic and foreign to my eyes, I have a great appreciation for your photos. happy SSS to you.
ReplyDeleteNo matter the age of your image it is still compelling... love the color!
ReplyDeleteIt`s a smiley shadow shot - I love it. Happy SSS!
ReplyDeleteThat's a stunning shadow shot Francisca.
ReplyDeleteMy share of shadow, please come and see.
Love how the shadows become like a string of puppet figures dancing on those huge dunes! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteLow resolution or not, i would love to be able to take a picture like that on location too!
ReplyDeleteAnd I thought the desert I live in was barren! It's nothing compared to the desert displayed in your photo. If it weren't for the shadows, there'd be nothing at all!
ReplyDeleteIF I HAD A SHADOW
If I had a shadow as big as the sky,
I never would fear, and I’ll tell you why:
My shadow would save me from dragons and things
That fly in the night with terrible wings;
My shadow would keep me away from the beast
That sniffs in the west and sniffs in the east
Hungry for children who play all alone,
Hoping to feast upon blood, upon bone;
My shadow would be my protector and knight
To keep fear at bay, to banish all fright.
I’m so glad my shadow is always nearby,
Though it’s not nearly as big as the sky!

Shadows in hoofprints and stone
I agree with JM! Could care less about the cliche, this is a fantastic shadow shot for the day, Francisca! Love the hill of sand -- perfect background! Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Visiting from shadow shot sunday, great shot!
ReplyDeleteCool shadow shot! I like it a lot.
ReplyDeleteThis is really one neat shot. Love the way the shadows all look to be leaning...great perspective for this one. Where in the world have you not been? What a grand life you have led. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be in and see so many, many different places. genie
ReplyDeleteit is a fantastic shot!!
ReplyDeleteThere's a reason people often take these shadow shots...because it's so much fun! I love this photo with so many people :D
ReplyDeleteUh? Whenever you want to post a 'cliche' photo it is OK with me ;>)) Some of us don't have such high standards (and some of us -- even though we're old as the hills -- haven't looked at that many lovely photos of these lovely hills.).
ReplyDeleteI think it;s a beautiful shadow shot!
ReplyDeleteNo matter what this photo is cliché and with a low resolution... it's very nice photo.
ReplyDeleteRegards!
very beautiful shadow shot. I've tried this dessert safari in Dubai and i love it. We also watched the belly dancing in one of those tents and tried the meals. I love the colors of their dessert, the first i've seen. The sunset there is amazing too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun shot, who cares!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shadow shot. Love it. No cliché. Only simple sand and shadows. And often simple compositions are the great ones.
ReplyDeleteWhile in Dubai we never went in this big sand dunes. We passed by in a public bus to the Hatta Mountains.
Must be awesome to be in a desert.
ReplyDeleteGreat shadows and the color of the sand is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love that shot. I didn't notice the lack of tech expertise, it is the subject of this photo that is important and fun
