The more they stay the same...
This building in Manila once housed the national waterworks and sewage authority and is now a hall of justice.
Manila, 2011
Unfortunately, I can tell you nothing more about the building.
Yeah, I know, a very lame post. But sometimes I just want to express my exasperation with the never-improving status quo.

The color does qualify it to be linked with Mellow Yellow Monday.
Maybe just the fact that the building is being used, at least its history is being preserved! It has a nice facade!
ReplyDeleteit's like justice going down the drain.:p
ReplyDeleteMellow Yellow Monday
Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteMy Blue and Mellow Yellow Monday.
@Luna... My brain was caught in the parallel between sewage (what's IN those pipes) and justice... Recent cases in our newspaper headlines have me choked. :-(
ReplyDeleteThere has to be a story behind this. The building is pretty cool looking, actually.
ReplyDeletei haven't visited this place, happy mym have time to visit my entry :)
ReplyDelete@tapirgal... unfortunately the story is that justice is joke here... I'm responding to a few recent high profile cases that are particularly outrageous... but it's nothing new and in total there are too many stories to tell on a photo blog.
ReplyDeleteRe my post, "The Bedroom" is a bar, which according to "reliable" sources, has no tables and chairs but beds for patrons to lounge in.:p
ReplyDelete[i get heartburn or indigestion when i read or watch the news.]
From a sewage authority to a hall of justice. At least the lawyers are still there. Nice photo Francisca. Keep on clicking.
ReplyDeleteQuite frustrating. That also explains most of us find work in other countries.
ReplyDeleteNice shot, btw!
i dont (er, seldom) get to watch our local news, because when i do, i would want to die in shame!!!
ReplyDeletehow ironic! converting sewage into justice bldg! thought it was the other way around!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd where does justice go? Down the drain I think hehehe. Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteMellow Yellow Monday
Seeing the photo and reading this post, I felt your exasperation, Fransisca! :-D
ReplyDeleteSo, there is more than a location to link sewage and justice in Manila? That's a shame, Francisca, but all too true in many places.
ReplyDeleteI like the fact that the original use of the building is forever carved into the facade at the top.

Have a happy MYM****
It is an interesting looking building, so whatever it takes...
ReplyDeleteI like the connection between sewage and lawyers though...
Sewage and justice - sometimes they seem to go hand-in-hand.
ReplyDeleteIs this just a nice way of saying it's the same old crap year after year!
