U is for Unicorn

The time came to find a word starting with U for ABC Wednesday, and unicorn immediately came to mind... and so I share with you these magical little metal unicorns used as decoratives at a cabin I stayed in with a close friend one beautiful summer's week on the popular Salt Spring Island in BC.

Salt Spring Island, 2010

PS. Of course, Pat! The Unicorn Song!

  11. You'll see green alligators and long-necked geese,
Some humpty-backed camels and some chimpanzees,
Some cats and rats and elephants,
    But sure as you're born,
You're never gonna see a Unicorn.

  12. When I was trying to come up with my "U's" I didn't even think of the unicorn. How smart of you, and a delightful picture too.

    I like Pat's poem....

  13. @Pat... How totally idiotic of me not to think of this...That's what I get for posting in the wee hours after being bleary-eyed from working and staring at the monitor all day. The Unicorn Song link is now up! Thanks, Pat!:-D

  21. Delightful little unicorn ornaments, lovingly photographed. Thank you so much for letting me know that the comment box wasn't open on the Today's Flowers page Francisca. I hadn't noticed before. I have now put it back.

  22. They are totally charming! Although I love the colors in the second photo, I really like the composition and the unicorns and unfocused background in the first. That's my favorite. How cool that you found unicorns for the letter "U" :)

  23. I love the fact that the unicorns have saddles - lots of virgins around, apparently ;-)
I had quite forgotten the Unicorn song - marvellous:-)
