Dancers in Red

Guangxi, 2006

These dancers in red I captured at a cultural show in China a few years ago are presented for Mary's Ruby Tuesday. The link will take you to many more interesting takes on the color RED.

You get a  larger view of the dancers if you click on the photo.

  1. Fascinating costumes. This is the first time I've seen anything like it. Not typical of most Chinese costumes I've seen.

  3. You do such a great job of commenting. My mind fills up with feelings rather than words, and I'm lost in the images, including this one.

  4. @ Francisca, my mistake. The color could be glazed, not painted. In the original you can see cracks and chips in the tile. I corrected and embellished today's post. I should probably have left the original photo large in this case, but most readers are not as interested in the details as you are. A few might study it :)

  5. @ F, I am thrilled that you enjoy the details. So do I, I only wish I felt like running back there to check up on it today, but I am in work/blog mode :)

  6. Was this just a "snapshot"? I ask because it is so good the way you've got a big of blur in the foreground giving a sense of action against the very clear girl in the background with an almost radiant poise...

Just excellent. Oh, and it's very red, too! :-)
